TWINNIE RETURNS TO THE BRITISH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL IN 2024
The British Country Music Festival has announced the second artist for its 2024 festival.
The Queen of Country Pop Twinnie will rock the Empress Ballroom on Saturday Night in Blackpool
As The British Country Music Festival heads towards its fifth birthday (30 Aug-1 Sept 2024), promoters have announced the return of country-pop sensation Twinnie, as a featured artist on the Saturday night main stage. Twinnie, who currently lives in Nashville, first appeared at TBCMF as a breaking artist in 2019, the festival’s inaugural year, and now she will be taking to the stage on Saturday night just before the main headliner.
Promoter Martin Blore from Fit The Bill said: “Next year will be a celebration year for the festival, and it seemed the perfect time to welcome Twinnie back to The British Country Music Festival. She has grown into an international artist and is returning to Blackpool just five years after she first performed at the festival, fresh from her debut performance at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. She is a great singer-songwriter and a consummate performer. I know she will rock the Empress Ballroom.”
Often described as the UK’s answer to Shania Twain, Twinnie, is originally from York in the UK. She is building on her American label EP ‘Welcome to the Club’, which racked up over 22 million streams and her BBC Radio 2 Album of The Week release ‘Hollywood Gypsy’. Twinnie has just released a new EP ‘Blue Hour (After Dark).
On the announcement, Twinnie said: “I’m so excited to be playing TBCMF again. I played there in 2019, and it was amazing. So much has happened in my career since then and Blackpool holds a lot of happy memories for me. I can’t wait to be back performing songs that many people will not have heard live, as I return from Nashville to meet fans in the UK.”
As a song-writer she has a diverse catalogue, writing for artists such as Kylie Minogue, Bryan Adams, The Shires and Lvndscape. She is also an accomplished creative director, having won Best Short Film at the British Short Film Awards.
Forbes has recognised her work as a philanthropist. Passionate about mental health within the music industry for creatives, her non-profit I Know A Woman contributed to standardisation for therapy for artists in the pandemic within label and publishing deals.
TBCMF will celebrate its 5th year in style
