It is with huge sadness that we have been asked to announce the postponement of this year’s British Country Music Festival, scheduled to take place from the 4th-6th September 2020, although the festival will be back from the 3rd-5th September in 2021.

Our venue partner, the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, has now closed following government advice and as a result of Covid-19 they have lost several international, large events that under normal circumstances, help to keep the town and local businesses afloat. When the venue reopens, they need to reschedule these events and there are more events than dates available. We have been asked by the Winter Gardens to make way for Blackpool’s biggest event of the year, The Blackpool Dance Festival, that welcomes 59 countries from all over the world, in order to help the town survive as best it can in these unprecedented times.

Whilst this is hugely disappointing for us and the TBCMF family, it is beyond our control and in a town that relies on the leisure and hospitality industry, people’s jobs and businesses are at risk, so we have agreed to the postponement.

As you may know, we are an independent festival and this has been a tough time for everyone involved in the events and music industry. Our first priority is to the singer-songwriters, our suppliers and the team who work on The British Country Music Festival. We are delighted therefore, that almost all the artists we had planned to present to you this year, have agreed to move to dates next year.

We know that many of you like us, will be frustrated, upset and disappointed, especially when we had secured such an exciting line-up. However, we hope that you will continue to support us next year. We need your understanding now more than ever. For anyone who has already purchased tickets for 2020, these will be carried over and valid for 3rd-5th September 2021. If anyone cannot make those dates, we will make a full refund, but ask that if you can continue to support us, we would really appreciate it. If you purchased tickets through Ticketmaster, they too will be valid for 2021. If you cannot attend, they will offer a refund.

We hope to announce next year’s line-up soon, please be patient as we need time to amend contracts. We will keep in touch with you all via social media and our website and we have a couple of new initiatives to announce in connection with next year’s festival, so please follow us on @TBCMF #tbcmf and visit www.britishcountrymusicfestival.com for latest news.

To all The British Country Music Festival family, thank you in advance for your understanding and we look forward to one hell of a party in 2021.

Stay safe and healthy,

Martin and Marina (Blore)
